ABOUT
hi, i’m janie.
i’m the person behind the person.
For the last 15+ years, I’ve worked inside mission-driven organizations in the nitty-gritty operational layer just under the top of the org chart: decision flow, communication systems, team alignment, workflows, reporting structure, basically the fascia that keeps people supported and resourced in their roles, so the mission stays effective and progressive. I’m brought in when an organization has outgrown memory-based operations ("Oh, Sam always did that"), leadership bandwidth ("I'm drowning"), or stale systems ("It's just the way I was told").
My work is equal parts operational leadership and human behavior. I’ve stabilized organizations through crisis, toxicity, blind spots, fear, and well-intended delusion. In more professionally-correct terms: executive turnover, operational rebuilds during periods of growth and change, leadership communication flow across departments and regions, and translating a founder's vision into something executable and sustainable.
“ops can’t op without comms that comm.”
Communication became a specialty because I kept hitting the same obstacle with teams: most team problems weren’t people problems. They were clarity problems. Ownership problems. Timing problems. Decision problems. I realized that "ops can't op without comms that comm," or, operations are only as good as how they're communicated. So I mastered translating complex into clear without stripping the humanity out of it. The teams and organizations thrived.
A tech entrepreneur (the kind with multiple startups, $50M valuations) once told me after working with me, “When you want something big done, wait for the Taurus to show up - that was you!” That was his quirky way of describing something I’ve heard from clients, execs, and founders in different forms for years: relief.
I’m humbled by that, of course. But I also know this is my sweet spot:
leader with vision + me = get it done.
we’re vibing, right? okay good. because…
